Visting a Mosque

Went off for an adventure today, yes took mums advice went back to the lonely planet and check out things to do, so headed to the only Mosque in UAE to allow visitors.

The boys got a better understanding of the religion that drives this place and an understanding of Ramadan (which can you believe starts on josh birthday!), and they understand the consequences of eating in public during this time, they found it interesting, particularly the washing of the body before entering. I had no idea they had to wash so much of their body.
The mosque was built by the government but was gifted to them by Cairo. It is 1 10th the size and an exact replica of the mosque on the hill in Cairo, I remember going there with my Mum and Dad, it is the same, even the lanterns, just smaller.

The boys were interested in watching the emirate man pray and his stories, they just got bored with peoples questions - I think because we already know the answers about Dubai and UAE. Some twit asked the guide "did he think that women in this religion were oppressed", moron. The guide just looked at him, then said we are equal and they pray as the men do. They enjoy their customs as would you. Well handled I thought.
